2024 - A Year Of Music

2024 was a great year for us music lovers. From the eras tour to brat summer, let's take a look back at some of 2024s biggest hits.

1 - Noah Kahan's, Stick Season

This song, one of the first big hits of 2024, Stick Season is all about Kahan's time at his home town Vermont. With themes of love as well this song is a great folk song to listen to with smart lyrics and clever quips, it peaked at number nine on the Hot 100 and was Noah Kahan's big break! Well deserved too.

2 - Chappell Roan's, Good Luck, Babe

This song is a common struggle for a lot of queer people. Good Luck, Babe is all about Chappell's struggle of being in a lesbian relationship with a woman who doesn't want to come out and be open with her. It peaked at second place on the Hot 100 and I think definitely had the potential to go wrong. It was released on the fourth of April and is suspected to be part of a potential up-and-coming album.

3 - Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga's, Die With A Smile

Bruno Mars has had one of the best musical stories this year, from being on the brink of bankruptcy to releasing back to back to back bangers! This is the first of three. Die with a smile made with the queen herself Lady GaGa. They have both expressed mutual respect for each other and how much they loved working with each other and how much fun it was. Die With A Smile peaked at second place on the Hot 100 as well.

4 - Sabrina Carpenter's, Espresso

Espresso was arguably the song of the summer for 2024, its witty lines used a constant metaphor between the attraction that Sabrina Carpenter brings to her relationships and caffeine. These smart lyrics were not only smart but also very catchy and were on everyone's lips this summer, and it peaked at number one on the Hot 100.

5 - Charli XCX's, Apple

Arguably Charli’s biggest hit from Brat. I’ve written about this album before but I would like to talk about this song a bit more. Apple is all about how Charli views herself as an Apple clutching on to her family tree and how her mother and father are part of her to her “core” and you can see this when you “split her apple open”

Conclusion

Overall 2024 has been a great year overall, with new albums from the biggest artists like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, new people getting the limelight like Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter and also new discoveries like Esme Emerson.
