Brat Remixes - October Album Of The Month

The Sweat Tour, brat summer, gaslight gatekeep girlboss? The brat movement took storm over the whole world this summer, when Charli released the remixes on the 11th of October all the hype came back, so let's review my top 5 favourite remixes.

1. I Might Say Something Stupid - With The 1975 & Jon Hopkins

Beautiful piece of production, a combo we never knew we needed. Both George Daniels and Jon Hopkins work so well together on this piece and made it perfect production wise, but let's not forget about the vocals. Matty and Charli's voice complimented the others so well! It really did bring back vibes of 2018-2020 1975.

2. Sympathy Is A Knife - With Ariana Grande

I don't think I could've chosen someone better for this feature. Ariana showed off her voice in her classically flawless fashion alongside Charli XCX. Ariana also spoke, or should I say sung, out about her struggles with people accusing her of getting beauty surgery because she simply can't be that stunning naturally.

3. Guess - With Billie Eilish

Let's just say I wouldn't have been able to guess this feature, but I'm glad it happened. Provocative and freaky this song has a dirty bass and dirty lyrics that work so well together, a fan favourite and deservedly so. This song has also been submitted for best pop duo in the upcoming Grammys.

4. Girl So Confusing - With Lorde

Now this was monumental. Pop girlies won't forget the term "working it out on the remix". This feature was largely speculated as fans expected Lorde to come in give her perspective on the drama. This song comments on themes of girlhood and the complexity of friendships.

5. Talk Talk - With Troye Sivan

Sweat tour partners, Troye and Charli come together once again to create a bop. This isn't the first time the two have worked together, previous works include the likes of 1999 which was almost the brat before brat? Although their tour is over now it did take over the US while it was live, UK and Europe fans hope it will eventually make the trip across the pond.

Conclusion

Brat will forever be iconic, I don't think I've seen an album make this much of a wave before. The mix of pop, electronic and club classic genre is experimental and different and - most importantly - loved by fans worldwide.
