I recently discovered Gia Darcy and her most recent EP, Crash Test and it's honestly amazing! The queen from down under I would say. She's an Australian artist who is still relatively small so jump on the band wagon while you still can as I explain why her EP is just so amazing!

1 - Nice Things

A classic song to start this EP. Nice Things is about Gia Darcy's struggle to express and deal with her feelings. She likes someone a lot but struggles to express her feelings correctly. As she puts it, she doesn't let herself have nice things. Gia also talks about how they are opposites, in a good way, however, it could end up being bad for them both if they can't overcome their contradictions. Nice Things 7/10.

2 - Crash Test

Crash Test is arguably my favourite song on the EP down to its amazing demonstration of Gia's talented lyricism. This song is about one of Gia Darcy's past relationships. The person she was with hadn't worked through all of his past problems and it impacted his relationship with Gia. She says that she wishes that he could've healed his scars before giving them to her and that she feels like she was some crash test for him to see what he was ready for. this song is an amazing display of Gia's talent. Crash Test 8/10.

3 - Next Life

Next Life is a fun upbeat tune about a platonic relationship. I assume it's platonic, not romantic, as Gia refers to this person as a sibling not by blood but by emotional connection. Gia talks about how this person is first to her every need and would have her back no matter what, she makes it clear that these feelings are mutual. What I will say is that it's very refreshing to see a song written about a friendship rather than a romantic fling. Next Life 7.5/10.

4 - Make Me Wanna

The vocals in this song are simply perfection! Make Me Wanna is a song about one recurring theme, trust. Gia talks about how she's struggled with past relationships but this person is special, he makes her want to open up, be herself, and break her walls down. She says that she is used to being on high alert but she can tell this person is different. Make Me Wanna 7/10.

5 - In The Next Room

This is probably the most sentimental track on the EP, Gia has been pretty public that In The Next Room is about the grief of losing her Grandmother. Gia said that she was her rock and oversaw everything she did, Gia even lived with her. This song is about not only the grief of losing her but also the struggle of now being alone in her house. Gia talks about how the sounds of her in the next room, her laugh, and the static of the radio to be specific, are no longer there. In The Next Room 7/10.

Overall this EP is a great piece of work and makes me excited for what Gia has to offer in the future. I hope she continues down the route she's going as I think this style of music suits her perfectly. Hopefully one day Gia can come to the UK and I might be able to see her perform. I am a big fan of Gia so please go show her socials some love and stream her music on all platforms!
